The Crown Prosecution Service dropped its case against Greenwood for attempted rape, using coercive or controlling behavior, and assault causing actual bodily harm, so the club instructed the 21-year-old to be suspended from practice and competition until an internal investigation is concluded.

Greenwood’s endorsement agreement with Nike was also put on hold and eventually terminated, and Electronic Arts revealed that he had been dropped from the active rosters of its FIFA 22 game.
The youngster, who is from Bradford, graduated from the United academy and made his senior debut in a victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League in March 2019.
He played in England’s Nations League encounter against Iceland in September 2020, earning his only senior cap.
