Match preview
On Saturday afternoon, Chelsea will host Leicester City in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge.
This match is happening at a time Chelsea has failed to convince their opponent to sell talented French defender Wesley Fofana to them. As Chelseas’ three offers for the player have been rejected.
Last time out against Leeds, Chelsea got off to a good start. They looked likely to have taken all three points, but goalkeeper Benjamin Mendyn thought otherwise as he single handedly gave Leeds a 1-0 lead after 33 minutes.
From that point on, Leeds looked confident and further increased their lead with a second goal in the 37th minute.
The next goal would determine the end result; this one was scored by Leeds in the 69th minute, ending any potential Chelsea comeback. In addition to Chelsea losing the match, Koulibaly received two yellow cards to ensure he will miss the game against Leicester.
Leicester and Southampton ended the first half without a goal. They both needed a good performance and results at home.
Meanwhile, Leicester, through a beautiful Maddison free-kick early in the second half, got ahead of their opponent in their last match against Southampton.
However, Southampton made some substitutions and rallied after falling behind to win the match. They equalised in the 68th minute and then scored another goal 6 minutes later.
Both teams have transfer business to settle at the negotiation table, however, that will be paused for the business on the pitch. Who’ll come out victorious? Only Saturday afternoon knows.
