A 2-0 comeback victory over Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League to go to the quarterfinals was sandwiched between these victories.

The beleaguered Potter has been given some leeway by the recent uptick in performance, but his team is still far from qualifying for the European berths as they currently occupy place 10 in the standings.

While trying to stay in the Premier League, Everton is five spots behind the Blues in the rankings with only 25 points collected, one point above the relegation zone.

In 27 games this season, they have only won six times, including a 1-0 victory over Brentford on Saturday thanks to a goal from Dwight McNeil in the first minute.

Chelsea is back in their finest form after faltering through a busy schedule of games, and they will be optimistic about their prospects of defeating the Toffees.

Even though they won their most recent game, Everton has had a worse run than the Blues and isn’t anticipated to take anything away from the Bridge.
