3 reasons why Madrid might lose to Man City

The second leg of the Champions League semi final between Manchester City and Real Madrid will take place tonight, and it promises to be an outstanding spectacle. Although it wouldn’t be wise to bet against Los Blancos given their recent performance in the tournament, Manchester City is something of a juggernaut right now.

Last year, these two teams faced off in the semifinals, and despite it appearing for the entirety of the game that City were running away with it, Real Madrid managed to advance.

Last week in Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, the first leg of the match finished in a 1-1 draw. Vinicius Junior gave Real Madrid the lead in the 33rd minute, but Kevin De Bruyne tied the score for Manchester City in the 53rd.

It’s anticipated that the second leg will be a thrilling match. There is a lot on the line for both teams. Real Madrid’s Champions League luck, which is not hard to believe in, is anticipated to help them advance, but we think City will avenge their semi-final setback from the previous season.

Without wasting more time, here are three  reasons why Real Madrid will lose to Manchester City this evening.

1. Manchester City have the home advantage;

The recent journeys Real Madrid made to Manchester’s blue side won’t be ones they look back on with much nostalgia. In their last four away games  versus City, they have failed to win any of them, drawing two and losing two. The Spanish giants do not have much luck in Etihad.

The Etihad has also been transformed by City into a veritable fortress. In their last 25 home Champions League games, they haven’t given up a single defeat. The most recent opponent to defeat Guardiola’s club at the Etihad Stadium in a Champions League match was Olympique Lyon In September 2018.

Enough said, Given how challenging it is to defeat City at home, City has a strong chance of moving on to the finals with the score locked at 1-1 after the first leg.

2. Man-City have a Profound Squad;

As the second leg of the semi-final approaches, Manchester City is in outstanding form. Their last defeat occurred on February 5th, a 1-0 away loss to Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League. In their last 22 competitive games, they have not lost a single game (winning 18 and drawing 4).

They have won their last 11 straight league games, and if they defeat Chelsea on Sunday, they will win the Premier League for the third time in a row.

They have only lost one game in their last 16 UEFA Champions League contests (winning 9 and drawing 7). In addition, they haven’t lost in their last 11 Champions League games since losing 3-1 to Real Madrid in the same round of the competition last season.

3. Man- City Desperately needs a Champions League title;

For the first time in their history, Manchester City is keen to take home the Champions League trophy. They have lately gotten close, but they’ve always come up short. They’ll be keen to go the distance this year and take home the elusive prize.

In the previous ten years, Real Madrid has completely dominated the opposition. But outcomes in matches like this depend on margins. City might just be a little bit more motivated than their Spanish rivals, and that, along with the talent they have at their disposal, should be enough to carry them to a historic victory later tonight.
