Lionel Messi was welcomed back to PSG warmly today by his teammates who prepared a guard of honour to welcome him back to training after his triumph in the 2022 World Cup.
The Albiceleste beat France on penalties to win their first World Cup since 1986 with Messi netting a brace in the finals.
After winning the World Cup, the 35-year old was given some days off to celebrate his success in his home country, but has now returned to training today’s morning.
As he returned, the club made sure to make him feel warmly welcomed, even though they are the team of the capital city of the country he defeated in the final.
Messi will not participate in PSG’s Coupe de France clash against Châteauroux this Friday, as it’ll be too soon for him since he only just arrived back at the training grounds.
As such, he is expected to make his return to action on Wednesday, January 11, when the Ligue 1 reigning champions face Angers at the Parc des Princes.
