Osimhen’s Agent Threatens Legal Action Against Napoli

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has found himself at odds with his own club over a bizarre TikTok video that appeared to mock the player. The incident has prompted Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, to issue a stern warning of potential legal action against the Serie A champions.

The controversy erupted after Napoli’s official TikTok account shared a now-deleted video that seemed to ridicule Osimhen. This peculiar move comes on the heels of Osimhen’s remarkable contribution to the team’s first league title win in three decades, where he scored an impressive 31 goals across all competitions.

Despite his outstanding performances on the pitch, Osimhen was left disheartened and angered by the social media post. Both the player and his management are demanding an apology from the club and a clear disavowal of the offensive content.

Roberto Calenda, Osimhen’s agent, expressed his outrage in a statement posted on X (formerly known as Twitter). He stated, “What happened today on Napoli’s official profile on the TikTok platform is not acceptable. A video mocking Victor was first made public and then, but now belatedly, deleted. A serious fact that causes very serious damage to the player and adds to the treatment that the boy is suffering in the last period between media trials and fake news.”

Calenda went further to assert, “We reserve the right to take legal action and any useful initiative to protect Victor.”

In a notable reaction, Osimhen removed almost all Napoli-related photos from his Instagram account, including pictures from last season’s Scudetto celebrations. He also temporarily unfollowed Napoli on Instagram before re-following the club.

The controversial TikTok post featured a clip of Osimhen’s penalty miss during a recent match against Bologna, accompanied by a peculiar, sped-up voiceover. This incident followed on the heels of apparent tension between Osimhen and Napoli manager Rudi Garcia during the same game. Osimhen was seen expressing his frustration towards Garcia as he was substituted off with only four minutes remaining in the goalless draw.

Adding another layer of intrigue to the situation, Osimhen did not sign a new contract with Napoli, despite rumoured interest from major clubs such as Manchester United and Chelsea during the summer transfer window. His current contract with Napoli remains in force until the summer of 2025.

As the fallout from this unexpected social media incident continues, the football world watches closely to see how Napoli and Victor Osimhen will resolve this internal dispute that has captured the headlines.
