Zidane is willing to resume coaching

Since his second departure from Real Madrid in 2021, Zinedine Zidane has not held a managerial position, but the Frenchman may be open to doing so soon.

In the past few years, “Zizou” has been linked to a number of prestigious positions, but he has remained on sabbatical to bide his time and recharge his batteries.

In the meanwhile, Juventus, Manchester United, France, and even Real Madrid have been linked to him.

After spending the last two years away from the sidelines, Zidane has now hinted at a potential comeback.

The footballing star described feeling “refreshed” after being “disconnected” for two years in an interview with “GQ.”

Zidane for France?

“I’ve said many times that when you play for France then become a coach, it’s logical that you think about it, but now is not the time,” Zidane said

After two years to switch off and reset, it might be time to come back in the game even though it might not be the right moment for the national team job. Zidane has mentioned the necessity of the break and of resting generally.

.”When I went home, my head was always back at work. In this job, everything comes at you from everywhere,” said Zidane.

“All the information gets on top of you and you have the responsibility of making all the decisions. It really absorbs your energy.

“Sometimes, and I’ve done it twice now, I need to take a break. A coach is in charge of 23 players and never stops.

“Now, I’m simply enjoying life. Everything is possible if you take a step back. My life always goes at great speed, but now I feel refreshed.”

Zidane also discussed how challenging it was to relax as a professional athlete raising two young children.

“When I was still playing, Enzo and Luca wanted to play all the time,” said Zidane.

“I trained a lot and at home I just wanted to rest, but they didn’t let me.”
