Greenwood Breaks Silence on Move to Getafe: “New Beginnings” in La Liga

Mason Greenwood, the talented 21-year-old forward, has finally spoken out after his high-profile move to La Liga outfit Getafe from Manchester United on a season-long loan this summer. Breaking his silence on September 4, Greenwood made his first public statement since the transfer.

This move comes with an intriguing twist, as Manchester United has included a break option for January and will continue to cover 50% of his salary.

The Red Devils had publicly confirmed that Greenwood would not be featuring for their team due to allegations of domestic abuse, which emerged just a month before his transfer.

On a sunny Monday afternoon, Greenwood was spotted at Getafe’s practice field, proudly donning his new kit.

He even took to social media to share his excitement, posting a video on Getafe’s official account, saying, “Hi Getafe fans, it’s Mason here. I’m so happy to be here and I can’t wait to get started.”

Greenwood also shared a story on his Instagram account, accompanied by the hashtag “New beginnings” and a blue heart emoji, signifying his determination to leave the past behind.

Since his legal troubles began in January 2022, the English talent has been sidelined from competitive football. In La Liga, he hopes to resurrect his career and put his turbulent past behind him.
