Thomas Tuchel might not be leaving Bayern Munich after all, contrary to news earlier reported. Bayern, Germany’s top football club, had agreed on Tuchel’s departure at the season’s end, but now there’s uncertainty.
When Bayer Leverkusen defeated the German championship, Bayern knew their chances of winning the league were slim. Consequently, they began the search for Tuchel’s replacement. However, finding a suitable successor has proven challenging.
Initially, they pursued Xabi Alonso, but he opted to remain at his current club. Then, they turned to Julian Nagelsmann, only for him to extend his contract with the German national team.
Now, Bayern is still in limbo regarding their next coach. Roberto De Zerbi is under consideration, but doubts linger about his suitability.
Meanwhile, Tuchel has stated he has an agreement to leave Bayern, but nothing is set in stone. Despite inconsistent domestic performances under his leadership, Bayern may be inclined to retain him due to his success in prestigious tournaments like the Champions League.
The situation remains unclear, but if Tuchel ends up staying, Bayern’s future could take a different course.
